Alhamdulillah.
10 months since the last blog article was written, Allah (Exalted is He) has brought me here to continue my quest for knowledge through blogging once more.
10 months ago seemed like only yesterday. That was a period when I was in Officer Cadet Course in the SPF still.
Since that time, many things have changed. I've graduated from Officer Cadet Course, Alhamdulillah and now I've been posted as a Company Commander in the Training Command. With my initiation into this role, the responsibility of leading the 152nd Police National Service Intake was handed to me. Subsequently, on the December 4th 2013, the 152nd intake graduated from Training Command to pursue the next phases of their lives. These shifts in my life seem like dominoes toppling one after the other, deliberately and in harmony by God's hand (His planning and will).
With the domino analogy in mind, it seemed perfectly logical that I ask, "What then will happen when the last domino falls?".
Perhaps the very reason why this blog article is being written is in response to that question itself.
On the 18th of September 2014, insya Allah (God willing) I will be 22 years of age. If Allah does prolong my stay in this dunya (world) till that time and longer, it seemed only natural to make plans for the inevitable. My Operationally Ready Date (ORD) will fall on the 30th of May 2014 and that will mark my venture into the real world yet again. I will no longer be sheltered by the regimental schedules of the force. And although that will be a cause for celebration, in actuality, the reality of what's to come will be much more challenging.
The right of passage for many men beyond the ORD will be to further their education in university, find work that pays well and to get married. I do not know what will be my path forward but insyaAllah with Allah, by Allah, through Allah and to Allah I will go.
